Explore mindful movement through space, off the mat, and towards your primal instincts.  In this all-levels workshop, students will explore movement patterns that are seldom found in ‘traditional’ yoga practice, yet are vital to moving well in the world. This workshop provides a bridge between classical yoga asana and functional movement patterns that cultivate confidence, strength, coordination, resilience & ease within a life that’s always in motion. Come ready to play!

Learning Objectives include:

  1. primal movement patterns
  2. bodyweight training
  3. the treasures of ground & floor-based practice
  4. locomotion, transitions through levels (supine -> sitting -> 4s -> feet -> hands + dynamic balance)
  5. tensional integrity or floating compression
  6. mobility vs flexibility
  7. essential elements of coordination & adaptability

Dates & hours:
(Each session can be signed up for independently. Please note this workshop series will be live-streamed and available for 24 hour replay in the library.)
Part 1: Saturday, Apr 24th, 2021 from 12-1PM PST.
Part 2: Saturday, May 1st, 2021 from 12-1PM PST.
