Serena Vargulick

While working on an urban farm one college summer in Philadelphia, Serena had her first taste of yoga (that she can remember). Despite beating the sun up to attend her first class, she felt unusually energized the rest of the day. A few sweaty classes more, she traced the lingering energy origin to an embodied sense of peaceful wholeness that seemed to bud and build during practice. Following her move to New York City, Serena leaned into yoga as an uplifting way to ground her body and focus her mind amid the abundance of stimulations adorning Manhattan. Finding that yoga heightened her sense of unity and compassion, she began to explore various styles and cultivate a personal practice.

Grateful for the positive influence yoga was having on her life, and curious about the deeper philosophies of the ancient practice, Serena chose to immerse herself in a 200-Hour Hatha & Vinyasa YTT at the Maui Yoga Shala in Hawaii. The teachings captivated and inspired her to learn more about holistic wellbeing and collective flourishing.

After volunteering at a yoga retreat in Spain, Serena began studying Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST). She is on her way to becoming a Practitioner of BCST, with the hope of helping others feel more at ease in their bodies and interpersonal relationships through nervous system unwinding, somatosensory processing, and resource integration. She is particularly interested in holistic perinatal health and conscious parental connection.

Serena strives to make her classes inclusive to everyone, and welcomes students of all experience levels! Her offerings tend to be slower-paced, yet strengthening, with an emphasis on mindful embodiment and expansive presence. Serena loves connecting with others through conversations about consciousness and purpose (almost as much as she loves a good Savasana) <3
