Curating Programs out of your replay library

The benefits of having your business online are endless, but by far the best thing about it is that you can create content once and use it again and again. A class that you used to have to teach in-person can now also be taught via Livestream and saved to your on-demand library to be watched again and again. But there’s another way to use this same content once more and that’s to curate your regular weekly classes into a course of classes that can be bundled together and sold as a program.

Curating Programs

When you come to your classes with intention you can make your content go so much further. Instead of just winging your next few classes think about a program of classes you’d like to bundle together and sell. One example might be a beginner’s guide to yoga with classes that break down the basic poses and discuss some of the language used in a class. You could also create a program for low back pain or reversing the effects of sitting at your desk all day. This Program would then have classes that focus on core work, chest openers, and back support.

Whatever the program is, think of your next 4, 8, or 12 weekly classes as the content that will go into that program. You can even update the names of each individual upcoming performance so that your students know exactly what they're signing up for in the coming weeks. Once these classes are saved to your on-demand library you can begin to build a program with it.

How to Build a Program

This video will walk you through the step-by-step process of creating a program in your Union account. Before you even get to this step though, start thinking about what programs will add more value to your current customers as well as what might attract new customers. We suggest that you allow your highest-tier membership to have access to all your programs so that they continue to feel loved and appreciated. For anyone else, you can sell them at a price that feels right for you.

Remember to also update your thumbnails when creating a program so that the videos feel like they go together in your replay library.

Market Your New Program

Once you have a finished program you’ll need to get the word out about it. If you’re using Customer.io you can add this type of purchase to some of your sales funnels. It’s the perfect way to reach out to customers who haven’t purchased in 90-days and entice them to come back with content curated for their needs.

Another great way to market your programs is to build a Programs page on your website. If you plan on having only a select few programs that are a higher-priced item then you could create separate pages on your website for each program. However, if you plan to build a lot of programs and keep them at a lower price we suggest keeping them all on one page of your website to make it simple for you to edit and your customers to find.

With each program, you’ll also want to build a landing page to make checkout easy for your customers. Once you've built a landing page for each program make sure to link it to your program’s page on your website.

More ways to sell your content

That's it! Plan out your weekly classes, save them to the on-demand library, and connect them to an event category so it can be sold as Program. Now the content you create once can go even further and add more value for your students. The question is, what Program will you start with?
